The Women Helping Others Group (W.H.O) was formed 36 years ago to help women who had lost their partners and found themselves alone. In September 2008, a chapter of the W.H.O. group came to Glen Pine. It started with a membership of 5 women and grew to more than 30 members and continues to welcome new ones.
The W.H.O. group’s focus was emotional support in a caring and fun environment. The focus has not changed.
The new Friendship group will provide an inclusive community where members can meet others, feel supported and have fun. The Friendship group meets once a week year-round and hosts Speakers of interest, Social gatherings, occasional movies, Card and Board Games where the competitive spirit is certainly NOT lacking, dining out at different eateries and always with the pocket book in mind.
We meet every Monday at Glen Pine from 1:00 – 3:30 pm.
