October 2019 Schedule

 Please note that our fall walking schedule is now in effect. Our walks will start at 9:30 A.M.

For those who want to carpool, please email railien@shaw.caor vcknight6610@gmail.comso arrangements can be made to pick you up at Glen Pine Community Centre, 1200 Glen Pine Court, Coquitlam.

 Note:  We like to socialize after our walks and go for a coffee.

Deer Lake Park – October 3  – 6450 Deer Lake Avenue, Shadbolt Centre, Burnaby 

Directions: Go West on #1 Highway.  Take the Kensington Exit, turn left onto Kensington, then turn left onto Canada Way, Right onto Sperling Avenue, Right into the Shadbolt Centre. Free underground parking is available and also has a outdoor parking lot. We will all meet the Shadbolt Centre at 9:30 AM to start our walk.  We walk around the lake.

Poco Trail – October 10 – Dominion Street, Port Coquitlam.

Directions: Go east on Lougheed Highway, slight left onto Dominion Avenue, east  bound on Dominion @Freemont Street. Parking is right near the entrance to the trail on Dominion Street. We will enter the PoCo Trail and walk north along the trail which is flat.

Coal Harbour – October 17 – Vancouver

This is a great walk from the Waterfront Skytrain station.  We walk along the harbour to the entrance of Stanley Park. This trail is good for all skill levels. We will meet at the skytrain station – Lafarge/Douglas at 9:30 AM.

 Lions Park – October 24 – 2850 Shaughnessy Street, Port Coquitlam –

We will meet in the parking lot at 9:30 AM and walk along the Coquitlam River.    

 Tri-City Trails – October 31 – Shaughnessy & Argue, Port Coquitlam

Go east on Lougheed Highway, take the Mary Hill Bypass & go south until you get to Shaughnessy, turn left onto Argue, parking lot is on your left. This is a nice walk along the Fraser River.

Osprey Village 10931 Barnston View Rd. Pitt Meadows
November 7

Directions from Coquitlam

Lougheed Highway East to Harris Rd. (McDonalds on your right) Turn South (right).  Take the roundabout and continue straight to stay on Harris Rd.  Harris Rd becomes Fraser Way.  Turn right toward Bishops Reach.  Take the roundabout and keep right.  It is an easy drive.  If in doubt google the directions.

 Pitt River Greenway – Pitt Meadows – November 14

Go East on Lougheed Highway over the Pitt River Bridge, take the first right at the lights – Kennedy Rd.  Drive approximately 2 kms, and parking lot is on your right.  We will be taking the east trail.

Rocky Point Trial – Port Moody Rec Centre – Knowle St. Port Moody – November 21

We will meet at the Rec centre by the tennis courts.

 Colony Farm Regional Park – Colony Farm Rd, Coquitlam – November 28

Direction from Coquitlam

Take Lougheed Highway and drive south 3 kms and turn left onto Colony Farm Rd.

Go to the end of Colony Farm Rd where the public gardens are and the parking lot.
